Friday October 21, 2011 by admin.
The following is the most recent information for the winning percentages for slot machines that is available. It gives general information on what the winning percentages for slots machines in various denominations as well as areas in and around Las Vegas Nevada. Although it doesn’t give information on specific casinos and slot machines, it can be useful to slot machine players who might want to know what area and/or denomination they should play or whether maybe they should switch to another form of gambling to improve their odds of winning. I will probably update this information as data becomes available because so many people who visit Las Vegas do at least some playing on slot machines and it can be useful to know this stuff.
Winning Percentages by slot machine denomination from the Nevada Gaming Control Board for July 2011

Balance of County: These casinos are not on the Las Vegas or Boulder Strip or in Downtown and they include the properties in Primm, and those other casinos scattered across the valley, such as Arizona Charlie’s and the Orleans.

I personally think that gambling with more money then you can afford to lose is a very bad idea and have found that playing a higher denomination slot machine with fewer coins in can improve my chances to win and actually cost less to play but everyone needs to make up their own minds and take responsibility for their own actions.

Nevada State Museum To Reopen Soon
Thursday October 20, 2011 by admin.
The Nevada State Museum in Las Vegas is reopening on Friday October 28th at the Springs Preserve which is another tourist attraction. The new museum space will be twice as large as the museum’s current home. It will display the first dinosaur fossils documented in Nevada, minerals from Nevada mines and Las Vegas showgirl costumes. The new museum space was completed in 2009, but its opening was delayed until this year, when lawmakers approved funding to complete the exhibits and hire staff. The Nevada State Museum, formerly housed at Lorenzi Park, will reopen at its new custom-built home at the Springs Preserve on Oct. 28 which is Nevada Day. The new venue is more than twice the size of the museum’s previous location and features exhibits including the first dinosaur fossils documented in Nevada, minerals from Nevada mines, Bugsy Siegel’s 1946 Flamingo stock certificate, and Las Vegas showgirl costumes. Although the new location has been ready since 2009, state budget issues delayed the opening until now.

The Margaritaville Casino Is Now Open
Tuesday October 18, 2011 by admin.
Heads up, Parrotheads (and other interested persons), if you like to drink margaritas (beers, …..) at all hours, play slots and table games in a laid-back atmosphere, the new Jimmy Buffet-themed Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip is now open. It is supposed to have 22 gaming tables, 220 slot machines, and a centrally situated "5 O’clock Somewhere" bar. The new party pit is located between the already existing Margaritaville restaurant and the main Flamingo Las Vegas casino floor. I haven’t been there yet but I am looking forward to checking it out. Enjoy!

South Point Adds Free Internet Poker Site
Friday October 14, 2011 by admin.
In case anyone is interested, the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa recently launched a free play Internet poker website. South Point owner Michael Gaughan announced the website at a news conference at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E 2011) last week. People who wish to sign up can access the site at http://southpointcasino.com. The site will offer cash and noncash prizes to poker players, including trips to the 2,200-room hotel-casino on the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard to compete in live poker events. Considering what’s happens with the closing of several online poker sites recently, this might be a good free alternative.
