The History of Las Vegas
Thursday February 10, 2011 by admin.
If your like me history classes were usually boring but the history of certain times and places were and are very interesting. For me, the history of Las Vegas certainly doesn’t qualify as boring. My guess is that everyone finds some aspect(s) of Las Vegas’ history interesting whether it’s the mob ties and/or the Rat Pack and/or Howard Hughes and/or the phenomenal growth of the Strip particularly in the 1990s and last decade and/or something else. Obviously this posting can’t cover the 103 year history of Las Vegas in any detail. There are countless books and web pages that cover one or more aspects of the history of Las Vegas so where’s a good place to start? I’ve found a great website that covers the overall history of Las Vegas quite well and although it doesn’t cover everything in detail, it makes a great starting place to begin researching Las Vegas’ history. To get a great overview of the history of Las Vegas with links to a timeline, videos, implosions, personalities, mob ties, events & issues, casino maps (by decade and area) and much more, click on –> http://www.lasvegassun.com/history/ . I hope at least some of you find this website as interesting and useful as I do. Enjoy!
