For all country music fans who like free live concerts and who will be in town tomorrow, the 25th Annual Downtown Hoedown will be at the Fremont Street Experience on 3 stages beginning at 6:10 pm tomorrow, Nov. 30, 2011.

Performance schedule:

• 6:10 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Hunter Hayes on Main Street Stage
• 7:10 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Glen Templeton on 1st Street Stage
• 8:10 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Lee Brice on 3rd Street Stage
• 9:10 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Craig Morgan on 1st Street Stage
• 10:40 p.m. – Midnight LoCash Cowboys on Main Street Stage & Exile on 3rd Street Stage

In addition, the 25th Annual Downtown Hoedown begins 12 Days of Country on Fremont Street Experience. To coincide with the National Finals rodeo, the Fremont Street Experience will have additional nightly free concerts Dec. 1-11 featuring Dean Simmons as Garth Brooks, Exile, Jimmy Ray’s Johnny Cash Tribute, Voodoo Cowboys, Ryan Whyte Maloney Band, Route 66 and Fairchild. For anyone who likes jazz, there are some free concerts you might want to take advantage of. From 7 to 10 pm most Saturdays, free “Jazz on the Lake” concerts are taking place at MonteLago Village Resort (30 Strada Di Villaggio, Henderson NV 89011) at Lake Las Vegas. The Village provides a relaxing environment for jazz fans to kick back and enjoy Las Vegas’ top jazz artists by water’s edge on most Saturday nights.

The Village at Lake Las Vegas boasts restaurants along the cobblestone streets of the  Mediterranean style village offering options for everyone’s taste buds for dining pre- or post-show. Coolers and outside food & alcoholic beverages prohibited. Blankets and chairs are welcome at the jazz concerts.

Here’s the line up for the rest of August:

• August 13 – Lady J Huston –Variety jazz and blues; Vocalist and trumpeter Lady J Huston & the Fireballs perform an energetic variety of jazz and blues.
• August 20 – Anduze –Smooth jazz and R&B.
• August 27 –Slick Willie Orchestra –Variety jazz and R&B; Nine piece group performs jazz and blues.

Looking for a good free jazz concert? At the Clark County Library (CCL) on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, you can hear different ensembles highlighting the best student musicians from UNLV’s Jazz Studies Program performing various styles of jazz – from mainstream to contemporary, to vocals or big band. The next free concert which features the UNLV Jazz Ensemble II is tomorrow Wednesday March, 9, 2011 at 7 pm in the CCL Main Theater which is located at 1401 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119. Their phone number is (702) 507-3400. Past performances have been worthwhile to those who like Jazz and they have been appropriate for all ages.
