Players Club Cards

Why should you use a players club card? That’s really simple to answer. If your going to gamble whether it’s slot machines or table games while your in Las Vegas (or anyplace else for that matter) then why not get something extra out of it. Players club cards, which are sometimes called slot club cards are how casinos track how much money you bet and how often you play, are your ticket to “comps” (free and discounted stuff including rooms, shows and meals). The more you play the more points you get towards your comps. High rollers, in fact, can get free top notch accommodations like penthouses with possibly additional services like a personal assistant and even a dedicated limo. Since the use of players club cards have no effect on how much you win or lose, there’s no reason you should not sign up for and use players club cards at each casino or group of casinos you gamble in. Even a low roller infrequent video poker player like myself get great deals like the ones seen by clicking here. $49 a night (Sun. – Thur.) or $89 a night Fri. & Sat.) at the 4 star rated Palms Casino Resort with Complimentary Access to Palms Spa & Fitness Center, $10 in Free Slot Play or Promotional Gaming Chips and $20 in Resort Credits plus VIP Nightlife Pass to Ghostbar, Moon, Rain & Playboy Club is nothing to squeeze at. Go for it!

T-Bones Chophouse & Lounge

Here’s two great possibilities in one place. T-Bones Chophouse & Lounge at the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa has not only been voted “The Best Las Vegas Steakhouse” for 2010 and 2011 by the readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal but it also has some of the best deals in all of Las Vegas on it’s 5 to 7 pm happy hour. The restaurant has oversized dry-aged prime steaks, signature bone-in meats and fresh fish flown in daily and the happy hour which takes place in the lounge which called “T-time” has 11 meals and 39 drinks for $5 each. Regardless of whether you want a great full meal or a great happy hour, you should check this place out. Click Here for the official website.

Cheap Flights Between LA and Las Vegas

Spirit Airlines announced that it will begin five daily non-stop flights between Los Angeles and Las Vegas starting on May 5th. To mark the launch, Spirit is offering $9 fares each way based on round-trip purchase, available for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between May 10 and June 15. Even though Spirit Airlines has been criticized for the number of add-on fees that bump up the cost of its low fares, this should still be a great deal for all those who can take advantage.

A Drink Special

Although I don’t know the size or quality of the drinks, casino bars at all the Station Casinos are now serving 99-cent margaritas, 24/7. You might want to check this one out.

Stay In Vegas For Less Than $40 Per Night

Although rates are subject to change (they will probably be higher on weekends, holidays and during certain conventions and events) and don’t include taxes and other possible fees, here’s nine deals, that are available this morning (2/24/2011), that you might want to take advantage of. They are: Palace Station Hotel and Casino (not on the Strip but on the upper left corner of my Strip map) from $14 ($13.99 actually) per night, Tuscany Suites and Casino (2 blocks east on Flamingo Rd.) from $18 ($17.50 actually) per night, Hooters Casino Hotel (1 block east of the Strip on Tropicana) from $24 per night, Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino (on Boulder Hwy. east of the Strip) from $25 per night, Stratosphere Tower – Casino & Resort from $26 per night, Riviera Hotel & Casino from $27 per night, Terribles Hotel & Casino from $29 per nigh, Excalibur Hotel & Casino from $35 per night and Flamingo Las Vegas from $35 per night. Okay maybe 3 star hotels aren’t a big deal in a town with several 5 star hotels and numerous 4 star hotels but with rates as low as $13.99 per night, how can you go wrong?

With average highs of 69 in March and 78 in April (pools usually don’t open until the end of March), Las Vegas can be a great place to visit during the next two months.

House Specials at South Point

For the best combination of quality and price, the 10 oz. Prime Rib ( with Au Jus and Horseradish Cream ) and the 16 oz. Porterhouse Steak ( with Onion Rings and Garlic Bread ) at South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa are two of the best food deals I’ve found in the Las Vegas area. They are both $12.95 and are served 24/7 in the Coronado Cafe with a Garden Salad and a choice of Baked, Mashed or French Fried Potato. The four star rated South Point, which has a movie theatre complex and 64 lane bowling center among other things, is about 5 miles from the airport and currently has room rates starting at $56 per night, makes a great place to stay or visit.
