Although happy hours are usually centered around drinking if you also want food with your drink(s), here are some of the better food centric happy hours in Las Vegas right now. This list is not comprehensive but hopefully it is representative of the better deals you can find if you know where to look. Happy hours come and go without warning, it’s a good idea to call ahead before you make a special trip somewhere.

• The Simon restaurant at Palms Place recently introduced a new $6 happy hour menu that runs from 4-7 pm Mon-Fri and features appetizers, including calamari with ponzu & shishito peppers, fried cocktail artichokes, meatball sliders, personal margherita pizzas, and sushi rolls, plus wines by the glass, beers, and cocktails.

• Next door at the Palms, Nove Italiano offers a happy hour menu every Thursday from 6-8 pm, featuring specially priced cocktails and wines in the bar and lounge, plus discounted appetizers from $7, including prosciutto di parma sliders, Tuscan panzanella salad, and margherita pizza.

• The Pink Taco at the Hard Rock has a casual happy hour from 4-6 pm Mon-Thur, with 2-1 beer and margaritas and appetizer deals, including $6 nachos. There are also late-night 2-for-1 drink specials.

• Casa di Amore (2850 E. Tropicana) has initiated a graveyard happy hour, serving all drinks, and pizzas, for half-price from midnight to 5 am nightly.

• Society Cafe at Encore offers a happy hour in the bar and lounge from 4-7 pm, Mon-Fri, offering imaginative appetizers starting at $6, including four types of tacos, "lollipop" chicken wings, and home-made meatballs, plus 2-for-1 margaritas, sangria, and beer.

• Brio Tuscan Grille now has two venues in Las Vegas, at Town Square and now at the new Tivoli Gardens mall on the west side of town. From 3:30-6:30 Mon-Thur there’s a happy hour at the bar featuring $2.95 appetizers. There’s a reverse happy hour from 9 pm to close, Mon-Thur.

• Raw bar lovers should check out P.J. Clarke’s "Oyster Riot" in the Forum Shops at Caesars, where from 2:45 to 6 pm every day except Saturdays, it’s $1 per for oysters-on-the-half-shell and you can order as many as you like. They’ve also recently added 2-for-1 drinks.

• The Palm in the Forum Shops offers the "Prime Time" happy hour weekdays from 4:30- 6:30 pm, with a reverse happy hour from 9:30 pm-close. The menu offers a range of appetizers for $4.50, including steakburger sliders and crab cakes, plus plus oysters and jumbo shrimp by the piece.

• Seablue at MGM Grand serves half-price lobster corn dogs and calamari, $1 oysters and shrimp, and $2 Stella Artois draft, Sun.-Fri. from 5:30-7 pm.

• Café Nikki at the Tropicana runs the South Beach happy hour from 4 to 7 pm daily. Appetizers are $6 and drinks are discounted by about 50% (including mojitos for $5).

• Tacos & Tequila, the "rock ‘n’ roll-inspired" Mexican restaurant at Luxor, has introduced a new $5 happy hour menu, with a selection of drinks and apps all priced at $5, Mon-Fri, from 2-6 pm.

• LBS Burger Joint at Red Rock has a happy hour from 3-6 pm, Mon-Fri, with half-off just about everything, including burgers, sliders, and salads, plus half-price house drafts and bucket of 5 Bud Lights for $10.

• McCormick & Schmick’s in Hughes Center, just east of the Strip, where 3:30-6:30 pm and 9:30 pm to close weekdays select menu times are priced from $1.95 to $4.95, including Cajun fries ($1.95), half-pound cheeseburger ($2.95), and blackened fish taco ($3.95). A minimum beverage purchase is required, but there are also drink specials.

T-Bones Chophouse & Lounge at the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa has not only been voted “The Best Las Vegas Steakhouse” for 2010 and 2011 by the readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal but it also has some of the best deals in all of Las Vegas on it’s 5 to 7 pm happy hour. The restaurant has oversized dry-aged prime steaks, signature bone-in meats and fresh fish flown in daily and the happy hour which takes place in the lounge which called “T-time” has 11 meals and 39 drinks for $5 each.
