Part of “Mob Attraction” Reopens Today
Thursday March 1, 2012 by admin.
I thought that someone out there might like to know that the interactive portion of the Mob Attraction (formerly know as the Las Vegas Mob Experience (not related to the new Mob Museum in downtown Las Vegas)) reopens today (March 1, 2012). The interactive component shut down that occurred last September led to the closure of about 15,000 of the attraction’s 26,000 square feet and to daily attendance falling from about 400 to about 130-150. The interactive portion of the Mob Attraction has been replaced and upgraded with enhanced special effects and 25 acting positions have been or will be refilled. New pricing and hours were also announced to coincide with today’s relaunch of the interactive portion of the attraction. It will be open daily from 10 am to 9 pm. General admission is $25. It’s $22 for locals, seniors and military, $15 for children ages 6-11 and free for children 5 years of age and under. The Mob Attraction says it uses authentic artifacts, technology and storytelling to tell the stories of such mobsters as Ben “Bugsy” Siegel, Meyer Lansky and Tony Spilotro. Since I’ve never seen this attraction, I don’t know if it’s worth it or not to go see. If anyone goes to see this attraction before I do, please let me know (at webmaster@vegasreservations.com) what you think.

Because last Tuesday’s holiday attractions posting included a free Holiday Cactus Garden tour, I thought it would be a good time to talk about the relatively little know free self guided Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Garden Tours that are open seven days a week. The factory is located at: One Sunset Way, Henderson, NV 89014 and the Cactus Garden, which has over 300 species of plants, is located adjacent to the factory. Get more info at http://ethelm.com/about_us/factory_tour.aspx and/or http://ethelm.com/about_us/cactus_garden.aspx. It’s free so why not check it out sometime?

Las Vegas Holiday Attractions
Tuesday December 6, 2011 by admin.
Wondering what holiday attractions and things to do (both free and fee based) there are in the Las Vegas area? The list includes Santa Claus, displays, shows, glittering lights, ice skating, a holiday cactus garden plus much more. The best holiday resource I’ve found that gives a great idea of what visitors and locals can see and do over the next few weeks can be found at http://www.lvrj.com/living/holiday-attractions-feature-lights-snow-santa-134553728.html. Room rates are generally good for the time period leading up to Christmas so why not visit Vegas soon?

Nevada State Museum To Reopen Soon
Thursday October 20, 2011 by admin.
The Nevada State Museum in Las Vegas is reopening on Friday October 28th at the Springs Preserve which is another tourist attraction. The new museum space will be twice as large as the museum’s current home. It will display the first dinosaur fossils documented in Nevada, minerals from Nevada mines and Las Vegas showgirl costumes. The new museum space was completed in 2009, but its opening was delayed until this year, when lawmakers approved funding to complete the exhibits and hire staff. The Nevada State Museum, formerly housed at Lorenzi Park, will reopen at its new custom-built home at the Springs Preserve on Oct. 28 which is Nevada Day. The new venue is more than twice the size of the museum’s previous location and features exhibits including the first dinosaur fossils documented in Nevada, minerals from Nevada mines, Bugsy Siegel’s 1946 Flamingo stock certificate, and Las Vegas showgirl costumes. Although the new location has been ready since 2009, state budget issues delayed the opening until now.

A New Attraction
Friday May 27, 2011 by admin.
Las Vegas has many attractions. There’s a very new very unusual attraction that won’t appeal to everyone but for those who are interested and willing to take the time and pay the price (a standard session lasts three and a half hours and costs $400 (which includes a complimentary shuttle service to/from the Strip)). it’s something your not likely to forget. The new attraction is called “Dig This Las Vegas”. It can best be described as America’s first and only "heavy equipment playground" that just opened at 3012 S. Rancho Drive (just minutes from The Strip). It gives participants the opportunity to experience what it’s like to operate a Caterpillar 315CL hydraulic excavators or D5 track-type tractors. “Dig This Las Vegas” is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm. Click on –> http://www.digthis.info/ for more information and possible discounts. I guess the question is, can you “Dig This” or not?

A new attraction, the Las Vegas Mob Experience, is set to open today (March 1st) at the Tropicana which is on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. There are some interactive features on the exhibits which include some possessions and home movies of some of organized crime’s most famous figures including Meyer Lansky’s diary and cars belonging to Bugsy Siegel and Charlie "Lucky" Luciano.
