Although Las Vegas is a great place to party all year long, another great reason to visit Las Vegas for New Years Eve is the many special New Year’s Eve Parties that Las Vegas has. Although Vegas has parties leading up to, on and after New Year’s Eve, this posting deals with parties that are on New Year’s Eve. Some of the best parties are:

The pool at Palms Place will be launching a new Sunday pool party starting this Sunday (June 5, 2011) called "The Sunday Scene". It will run all summer, from noon to 5 pm on Sundays. It will feature DJ Scene and will have menu items from the Simon Sunday Brunch. Cover starts at $40 with ladies and anyone who orders the brunch admitted free. You must be at least 21 to attend. The Palms is a great place to party so I assume that this will be worthwhile to anyone who is interested. The official website (http://www.palms.com/events/sunday-scene/) doesn’t have much info on it yet but you can call 702-942-6832 or email tables@9groupvegas.com for to reserve a cabana. Enjoy!

Next Thursday ( March 17th) is St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s a list of St. Patrick’s Day parties that I know of going on in Las Vegas area (note that most are just on St. Patrick’s Day):

St. Patrick’s Day Party at JC Wooloughans Irish Pub from 03/11/2011 - 03/17/2011 – Free parties featuring Irish Happy Hours, live music, traditional bag pipes, food specials, and more.

Ultimate St. Patrick’s Day Bash at McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon from 03/12/2011 - 03/19/2011 -

Mar. 12 - St. Practice Day - Irish breakfast at 11 a.m., $10 along with $4 green beers and $5 Irish Car Bombs. From 8 p.m.-10 p.m. there will be a special open bar for $15 and from 10 p.m.-1 a.m. for $20 ladies/$30 men. Entertainment by the Celtic Rockers and the Desert Skye Pipes & Drums.

Mar. 14 - Pot O’ Gold Monday - Hosted by SpyonVegas.com. All party*goers will take a turn at pulling a drink special from the "Pot O’ Gold" from 9 p.m.-midnight.The JV All-Stars will perform from 10 p.m.-1 a.m.

Mar. 15 - Tilt Your Kilt Karaoke - Hosted by CityLife Magazine. Anyone who sings a song will receive a free drink. Darby O’Gill will perform from 9 p.m.-midnight and locals with ID will receive $2 well drinks and domestics from 10 p.m.-close.

Mar. 16 - Cheers to Green Beers - Drink specials such as $4 green beers all day and $4 shots of Jameson will be available. Finnegan’s Wake will perform from 9 p.m.-midnight.

Mar. 17 - St. Patty’s Day - Hosted by Xtreme 107.5, KLUC 98.5, and MIX 94.1. Kegs and Eggs will take place from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. with all-you-can-eat-and-drink for only $20. There will then be a ‘Mid-Day Mind Eraser" open bar from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. for $20 and each guest will receive a McFadden’s souvenir yard glass with their $10 cover. There will also be a "Build Your Own Green Bikini" contest with a chance to win $1000 cash prize. Entertainment will include Irish Dancers, Bread and Circus, and Desert Skye Pipes & Drums.

Mar. 19 - St. Recovery Day - From 8 p.m.-10 p.m. there will be a special open bar for $15 and from 10 p.m.-1 a.m. for $20 ladies/$30 men.

St. Patrick’s Day Party at Nine Fine Irishmen $25 on 3/17/2011 - Price includes one free drink. Live music will start at noon and last until 2 a.m. and includes music by Sin E Ri Ra, Celtic Rockers, Mike Bowman, and more. The Desert Skye Pipe Band parade will start at 11 a.m. outside Coyote Ugly.

8th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party at Three Angry Wives Pub Noon to 2 am on 3/17/2011 – features an outdoor beer garden, traditional Irish food, cash and prize giveaways, and live music.

3rd Annual St. Patty’s Day Pub Crawl at the Fremont Street Experience (FSE) from 5 pm to midnight - Free with RSVP and wristband pickup. Only guests who have RSVPed will receive a wristband. Check-in and wristband distribution will be located at the 1st floor outside the elevator lobby on the Fremont Street Experience Parking Garage, 425 Fremont St. Bring your parking stub and FSE will validate parking at the time of check-in. Check-in is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., however, wristband offers will be valid until midnight. Click here to RSVP. Drink specials will be available at Binion’s, Fremont, Fitzgeralds, Four Queens, and Golden Gate. 3-Day Block Party at O’Shea’s 11:30 am to midnight on 3/17/2011 – Free - green attire is encouraged and live entertainment will continue throughout the entire three days. Food and drink specials will be available including 2 Guinness Beef Sliders for $5, Bailey’s & Jameson Shots for $3, Miller/Coors 16 oz. drafts for $4, and more.

11:30 a.m. – 12 a.m. – DJ Irish
12 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Beer Pong Rematch with Holly Madison and Lucky the Leprechaun
1 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Joshua Tree
5 p.m. – 8 p.m. – Limey Bar

St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at Murphy’s Law Bar and Grill dawn to dawn 3/17/2011 - Irish block party with food & drink specials, live music, games, giveaways, and $3 green beers. Bring a boxed or canned good donation for HELP of Southern Nevada and receive your first green beer free.

St. Patrick’s Day Soiree at Rhumbar 3/17/2011 - featuring $8 green eggs and ham burritos, $5 6-ounce cans of Miller Lite, $6 Milagro Tequila Bloody Maria, and $6 Stolichnaya Green Bloody Marys. Entertainment by DJ Pony P.

Shamrock Shindig at Silverton 5 pm to ? on 3/17/2011 - $5 - featuring an Irish cabbage and potato eating contest, live music, a Mr. and Ms. St. Patty’s Day contest, and drink specials.
