Mac King – Best Budget and Daytime Show
Tuesday April 26, 2011 by admin.
My favorite daytime Las Vegas show (and one which is appropriate for the family) is “The Mac King Comedy Magic Show” at Harrahs on the Las Vegas “Strip”. It has also been voted the best bargain show for 2011 by the readers of the Las Vegas Journal-Review and I would certainly agree with that. Mac King´s show contains a unique and unusual combination of quirky humor, visual gags and quality sleight of hand. Mac is also known for his engaging personality and original magic creations like making a live goldfish appear over an audience member´s head. The show runs at 1 pm and 3 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Tickets are $32.95 plus tax & fees (and that price is often discounted – check around Harrahs for discount coupons) so you shouldn’t go broke checking it out. Enjoy!
You can buy tickets and/or get more information at http://www.harrahslasvegas.com/EventsDetail.do?detailName=the-mac-king-comedy-magic-show-detail&locationCode=LAS.

Fashion Show Mall
Friday April 22, 2011 by admin.
Although Las Vegas may be better know for it’s gambling, pools, shows and nightclubs, shopping is another great reason to visit. The Fashion Show Mall is the best know and most visited shopping mall on the Las Vegas Strip that is not attached to a hotel casino. It has been voted the “Best Mall” for the past five years by the readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. With over 250 shops and restaurants including Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillard’s, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and Nevada’s only Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s Home and Forever 21, it’s easy to see why it’s been voted the best mall. Fashion Show Mall is centrally located on the Las Vegas Strip just north of TI - Treasure Island and across from Wynn Las Vegas and it’s easy to get to by car, bus or walking (if your staying close by). It is normally open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and on Sunday from 11:00am to 7:00pm. For more information including a directory and a list of upcoming events, click on → http://www.thefashionshow.com/.

T-Bones Chophouse & Lounge
Thursday April 7, 2011 by admin.
Here’s two great possibilities in one place. T-Bones Chophouse & Lounge at the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa has not only been voted “The Best Las Vegas Steakhouse” for 2010 and 2011 by the readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal but it also has some of the best deals in all of Las Vegas on it’s 5 to 7 pm happy hour. The restaurant has oversized dry-aged prime steaks, signature bone-in meats and fresh fish flown in daily and the happy hour which takes place in the lounge which called “T-time” has 11 meals and 39 drinks for $5 each. Regardless of whether you want a great full meal or a great happy hour, you should check this place out. Click Here for the official website.

Mandarin Oriental, Rumor, Aria, Tropicana, Hard Rock Hotel, Encore Las Vegas, Golden Nugget, Vdara, Flamingo and the Cosmopolitan.

The Best Slot Clubs in Las Vegas
Tuesday February 15, 2011 by admin.
Because most people who visit Las Vegas do at least some gambling and slot (players) clubs are the key to tracking most visitor’s gambling and therefore receiving comps (free gifts or free (or reduced rates on) rooms, food, etc.), I thought it would be a good idea to post the information listed below. According to a fairly recent survey of the readers of “Strictly Slots”, the best slot clubs in Las Vegas are:
On the Las Vegas Strip: #1 Harrah’s Las Vegas #2 MGM Grand #3 Caesars Palace
In downtown Las Vegas: #1 Fitzgeralds #2 Fremont #3 Main Street Casino
For Las Vegas locals: #1 M Resort #2 Sam’s Town #3 Station Casinos
The above information is not meant to encourage gambling or to indicate that the casinos listed above are the best places to gamble for any particular type of gaming but I do hope this information is useful. Keep in mind that it’s free to join every Players Club that I am aware of and there’s no reason to not get credit for the gambling you do, if any.

This posting is for anyone who likes to go to a spa when visiting Las Vegas and wants to know which ones are best. Forbes Magazine recently awarded it’s prestigious awards for spas for this year. Three Las Vegas spas including the spas at Wynn Las Vegas, Encore Las Vegas, and Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas are among the 20 spas worldwide to be awarded the Forbes five-star award this year. The spas at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino, Bellagio, M Resort Spa Casino, Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas and Trump International Hotel Las Vegas were all awarded four stars. All of the above hotels are 5-star rated except M Resort which is 4-star rated so how can you go wrong? Enjoy!

The Best Overall Hotels in Las Vegas
Thursday January 27, 2011 by admin.
Having already covered the best overall hotel casinos in Las Vegas, I thought it would be good to look at the best hotels because many people want the best place to stay even if they don’t gamble or prefer to gamble elsewhere. According to a fairly recent survey of the readers of “Strictly Slots”, the best overall hotel casinos in Las Vegas are:
On the Las Vegas Strip: #1 Wynn Las Vegas #2 Bellagio #3 Caesars Palace
In downtown Las Vegas: #1 Golden Nugget #2 Fitzgeralds #3 Main Street Casino
For Las Vegas locals: #1 Rio #2 M Resort #3 Red Rock
Not surprisingly, many of the best overall hotels are also the best overall hotel casinos (see my Jan. 11th posting). Although It’s difficult for me to argue with any of the above choices, they are also many other very good to great hotels in Las Vegas which should be considered. Even though opinions can vary greatly, I hope this information is useful to anyone who is planning where to stay the next time they are in Las Vegas.

The Best Las Vegas Buffet
Friday January 14, 2011 by admin.
Because many people don’t like buffets, putting the words best and buffet together is for some an oxymoron. Add the words Las Vegas and some people have visions of Randy Quaid’s character in the movie “Vegas Vacation” pilling mounds of what looks more like toxic sludge than food on a plate. The truth is is that Las Vegas has many very good to great buffets (although most are not cheap). Based on personal experience and the rating of many others, the best overall buffet in Las Vegas is “The Buffet” at the Bellagio. Hours of operation and prices for “The Buffet” are:
- BREAKFAST $15.95: Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 11:00 am
- LUNCH $19.95: Mon - Fri 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
- DINNER $29.95: Sun - Thu 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
- GOURMET DINNER $36.95: Fri - Sat 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
- WEEKEND BRUNCH $24.95 (With Champagne $29.95): Sat - Sun 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Although not cheap, based on the quality of the food you get, prices for The Buffet at Bellagio (especially for the breakfast) are considered by many to be a bargain. There are, of course, many other buffets in Las Vegas that are worth trying including: The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas, Le Village Buffet at Paris Las Vegas, Village Seafood Buffet (dinner only) at the Rio, The Buffet at Aria, Rio’s Carnival World Buffet, Cravings at the Mirage, The Wicked Spoon at Cosmopolitan, Bayside Buffet at Mandalay Bay and the Paradise Garden Buffet at Flamingo Las Vegas. If you haven’t tried one of these great buffets before (or recently), why not enjoy one or more them (especially The Buffet at Bellagio) soon?
